This is a great fitting pattern. I used it as a basis for a dress. I used asymmetry setting, so the left and right side are different. My right shoulder is lower than the left, and making pattern adjustment prior to sewing is always easier. I am very happy with the result. I feel using the sewfitography Laura pattern as a basis saved me loads of time fitting/adjusting/making muslins.
I did add a little extra ease to the bust and the waist 4cm. For previous sewfitography patterns I used 2,5 cm, but the muslin was too tight. For the hip and used 2.5 cm like I did before. As you can see in the pictures of the muslin it is too tight. adding just 1.5 cm exrta ease at the bust and waist solved the problem.
I love the princess seams in this pattern, and because they are drafted for my figure, they fit great. For me the great fit is emphasized by the way the neckline lays flat!!! Yeah absolutely no gaping. The notches all line up, the lenght is very balanced, and the side seams hang straight. For the skirt part of this dress I used the sewfitography skirt. The only challenging thing merging the skirt to the Laura top. I hope aprincess seamed dresses will be added to the patterns of sewfitography. Both armscye princess seam as a shoulder princess seam dress.
